For the second consecutive year, my teammate, Teal Stetson-Lee, and I raced in pink from head to toe in honor of breast cancer awareness month. Along with the raising awareness, I once again raised funds to support Hope Lives! The Lydia Dody Breast Cancer Foundation. The Fort Collins based non-profit provides local breast cancer patients with complementary care and lifestyle support during breast cancer treatment.
I invited sponsors, friends and fans to become “Pretty in Pink” with me. Your response far exceeded my expectations. More than 350 individuals and businesses participated in these fundraising efforts. Together, we have raised nearly $8000 for Hope Lives!
Congratulations to the winners of the pink! online raffle.
- Linda Locke: Thule crossover 87L rolling duffel
- Jason Hopkins: Kinetic trainer package including road machine trainer, riser ring, trainer floor mat and wired power computer
- Gilberto Hernandez: one-year premium subscription to Strava + Garmin Edge 500
- David Quigley: Specialized Roval Pave SL wheelset, 4 tracer pro clincher tires and 5 rolls of bartape

In addition to the pink! online raffle, Pretty in Pink once again included a silent auction dinner event and, new this year, tee-shirt sales through Stomach of Anger. Although October is long gone, Stomach of Anger continues to sell “Pretty in Mud” tee-shirts at $20/shirt. All profits from the sale of these shirts go to Hope Lives!
Check out our women’s version and our men’s version before sales close. We expect shirts to be available through December — the perfect holiday gift for your ‘cross crazed friends and family members.
THANK YOU!!! to EVERYONE who has supported Pretty in Pink this month. Ihave been overwhelmed with the response from product donors, the Fort Collins cycling community and each of you.
